What is WebSitter?

WebSitter is a local parental control app that blocks inappropriate websites for your children. It runs entirely on your device — no cloud account, no subscription, no data ever leaves your home network.

Does it send any data to the cloud?

No. WebSitter operates 100% locally. All filtering rules, child profiles, and browsing activity stay on your machine. We have no servers that receive your data.

Which platforms are supported?

WebSitter supports macOS 12+, Windows 10/11, and major Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian). One licence covers all three.

How do I get access during early access?

Is WebSitter free?

During early access it is free for all testers. Pricing for the general release has not been announced yet. There will be no recurring subscription — we believe in a one-time purchase model.

How does website filtering work?

WebSitter intercepts DNS requests at the system level. When a child's profile is active, blocked domains resolve to a local page instead of the real site. There is no browser extension required and it works across all apps and browsers.
